Cloud Consultancy

Recent times have marked the inflexion point for cloud adoption for both SMB and enterprise customers. Many customers today have already started taking cloud seriously. Most don’t have granular visibility into their IT infrastructure – and are not able to quantify the benefits of cost, agility, speed, and time to market that cloud brings. Others, while aware of the benefits, don’t know where to start from – and are unsure of how ready their staff, systems, tools, and processes are for public cloud.

Complete Cloud Solutions offers a wide variety of services to assist companies not only migrate to the cloud with reduced risk and time but make the best of it once they are there.

Some of the key customer challenges and questions Complete Cloud Solutions see and address, through a cloud consultations, are:

  • How do I get more speed, agility and performance for my IT assets?
  • How do I decide between hosted private cloud vs public cloud deployments?
  • How do I factor in both for my short to medium term IT strategy?
  • How do I decide the first apps to take to cloud?
  • Do I need to train my staff again after a cloud migration? What other changes do I need to make in my IT staffing?
  • How do I control ‘shadow IT’, or ‘zombie apps’ or workloads that are consuming more resources than the value they are delivering?
  • What changes need to be introduced to minimise the end user disruption and ensure all their unique requirements are not overlooked?

If you find yourself asking any of the above questions, a cloud specialist will help you answer them and gain confidence in your ability to migrate to a public, private or hybrid cloud. Complete Cloud Solutions offer a variety of capabilities to assist you with the three phases of cloud, which are listed below.

This offering investigates all aspects of your technical and business environment to ensure you are ready to migrate to a cloud provider as well as detailing the best fit cloud model for you organisation. It does this by:

  •  Assess: Assess environment, infrastructure, workloads, and applications. Assessing applications and workloads for cloud readiness allows organizations to determine what applications and data can, and cannot be readily moved to a cloud environment and what delivery models (public, private, or hybrid) can be supported.
  •  Plan: Create infrastructure maps based on app dependency and performance; identify shadow IT. It is common for an application being migrated to a cloud service to have connections of various kinds with other applications and systems therefore, the application owners need to understand the impact of these connections and address it.
  •  Visualise: Group apps based on inter-connectivity and dependencies, tweak groupings based on insight gleaned from assessment and infrastructure mapping. Integration between apps is traditionally classified into three categories: process integration (sharing functions), data integration (sharing data), and presentation integration (sharing user interface).
  •  Prepare: Determine app groups cloud viability, readiness, and cost of migration. Prioritise apps based on how well they score for each “cloud readiness” metric and how mission-critical they are to a customer’s business. Right-size any over or under utilized resources. Address any security or privacy issues.
  •  Estimate: Estimate TCO of running applications on-premises vs. in the cloud with accurate inputs on labour, infrastructure, tools, training etc. Calculate the ROI of migration from on-premise to cloud.

Complete Cloud Solutions believe that the migration to any cloud is a journey. First, you must confirm your selected workloads, users, IT staff and business are ready to make the change. If you haven’t, please visit the readiness tab on this page.

If you have, our migration experts can assist you with:

  •  Lift and shift – This kind of migration is best if you are currently struggling with legacy hardware or physical limitations within your environment. It is the quickest migration and moves your servers, like for like, to a cloud provider of your choice. This migration type should not be for long-term use due to the limited benefits of running on a cloud platform in this manner however it is an ideal staging ground should you have time constraints.
  •  Workload re-architecture – This form of migration takes the current workloads and re-architects them to use modern cloud principles such as PaaS and SaaS. This type of migration ensures more significant benefits than merely deploying to an IaaS platform by increasing resilience, showing a more substantial cost-benefit, and increasing the return on investment.
  •  Hybrid – It may be that some aspects of your environment are not suitable candidates to migrate to the cloud, or you only want to move specific workloads (such as email). This restriction shouldn’t mean that you don’t migrate other workloads that would benefit from the migration. These should be identified and separated, then one of the above migration methods used to move the capable workloads to the cloud, while leaving them in communication with their local services.

Complete Cloud Solutions have experience across all of the above migration types.

Once your business has ensured they are ready and gone through the journey of migrating to the cloud, you now need to ensure that you are continuously running in the best, most efficient way possible. To ensure this, Complete Cloud Solutions have a range of offerings.
